MCNERNEY ENDORSES MEASURES A & B
Continues to Work to Keep Stockton Safe
Stockton, Calif. – Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney announced that he supports Measures A and B. He cited his ongoing commitment to making the streets of Stockton safe so education and businesses can prosper as reasons for his endorsement of the measures.
“Our first priority for Stockton’s future prosperity is to reduce our crime rates. When we have safer neighborhoods we will be more successful in attracting businesses and improving education. Because we have such a strong sense of community, I know that we have the fortitude to achieve this goal and generate true economic growth and put Stockton on a path for success and prosperity,” said Congressman McNerney. “Measures A and B will also build our police force, a vital step in achieving the safety.”
“In the wake of Stockton’s bankruptcy filing, it is imperative that we take steps to bolster our local economy. By working together at every level of government – and with the community’s engagement – we can help Stockton reach its full potential,” continued McNerney.
Measures A and B will:
- Generate approximately $28 million in new sales tax revenue each year for Stockton
- Create up to 120 new positions for police officers
- Help Stockton to recover from bankruptcy and fully restore services
